Founding and Legacy

Cleveland Keith founded Keith Monuments in 1960 to provide affordable headstones for families in Chattanooga. Starting the business from his home, Cleveland’s dedication to serving his community helped him grow Keith Monuments into a trusted local establishment. Eventually, he moved operations to an office, establishing Keith and Sons as a cornerstone of care and service.
Since Cleveland’s passing, his family has continued his legacy, helping grieving families in their time of need and carrying forward his vision of compassionate service.
A Community Need
In the 1960s, the African American community in Chattanooga often faced barriers to purchasing gravestones, leaving loved ones without marked graves. Cleveland Keith recognized this struggle and made it his mission to provide affordable, high-quality memorials for all.
To this day, we aim to alleviate the stress of grieving families by offering personalized, lasting tributes that reflect the life and love of the departed.
